Light from the handle is absorbed into the hair follicle and transformed into heat. The heat destroys the root and the hair’s blood supply so it can’t grow back again.

Our hair grows in cycles so not every hair will be attached to a blood supply at the same time. This means multiple sessions are needed to catch all the hairs in this critical stage of its growth.

We recomend that you do not wax, pluck, epilate or use hair removal creams on the area for a few weeks before you begin your laser journey. In order to get the best results we need a good healthy root that will absorb the heat and kill the folicle.

After your session you will leave the clinic with hair still in the skin. It takes on avrage 1-3 weeks to notice the results, during this time continue to shave and exfoliate the area. This will encourage the hair to shed. You will notice the hair that grows back after each session grows alot slower and is finer.

Please be aware that we cannot treat skin with an active tan. If you are a sun bed user please request the Diode laser. We also cannot treat you if you have fake tan on the area. The laser light may be attracted to the tan pigment and can cause burns. It is very important that you follow this rule.

IPL hair removal clients must leave 30 days each side of sun exposure and Diode laser clients must leave 3 days each side of sun exposure. Don’t worry as your technician will keep you right as to the best machine for you.

Unfortunately grey/white hair is invisible to laser light and will not be affected.

A good rule of thumb for optimal results is 6-12 sessions for women and 8-14 sessions for men. However, everyone is different this is only a guide. You may also require the odd top-up every 6-12 months if your body decides to make brand new hair follicles. Top-ups aren’t always required. We’re all different and so is our body hair.

Well this is up for debate! There is a sensation that can make you say ‘whooo’ however it should never be real pain only a sensation. There are plenty of settings we can adjust to find the right one for you. Some parts of the body are more sensitive than others so it important to communicate. Our fabulous machines have  inbuilt cooling systems making the handle cool the skin on contact. If your worried about pain, don’t be. The sensation is so worth the results.
